- 2 Decoding Dragonstone Teaser – Game of Thrones S-08
The teaser of Dragonstone- Game of Thrones S-08 is just a 54-second long video that does not hint much. The teaser features Arya Stark of Winterfell and a dragon for the Targaryans.
Dragonstone is basically where Daenerys Targaryen was born and is her current headquarters. The teaser features the detailed map of Westeros where Aegon the Conqueror has planned the invasion of Westeros. The teaser also suggests that the Knight King’s frozen army including both Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen overpower. Although there is no hint about the flames enveloping the lion shown. It could be the representation of the flames of Daenerys’s dragons or not.
The war between the White Walkers and Starks
The teaser highlights the map where ice is coming down from the North which of course means moving of White Walkers towards the south. The frozen dragon and frozen direwolf seem to represent the Winterfell. Mist, on the other hand, is, of course, a forerunner of the White Walkers that symbolizes rolling of mist in from the north. The army of the dead will be shortly posturing down to the Westeros as predicted.
The frozen dire wolf is the sign of Stark’s House so it could probably the doom for the Starks by the hands of the White Walkers. But this is not the end, for we know that even Dragonglass is also the way who could take down the White Walkers. Who knows forming of Dragonglass will result in whose doom.
The fate of the House of Lannister
On one hand, where mist represents the White Walkers, we could also spot the fire ranging from the south. The fire is likely to disburse the whole of Lannister’s lion which hints that the Mother of Dragons may use her children in abolishing Cersei Lannister for her duplicity. So is this fire the representation of the fall of Lannister? We will have to wait and watch.
History of Trident
Another major carryout is the meet of ice and fire. The key showdown in the teaser Dragonstone focusses on the Trident, located at the middle of Westeros. Yes, you read it right. Recalling the past, Trident is where Robert Baratheon killed Rhaegar Targaryen, which marked the beginning of the storyline the Game of Thrones. By now, it is revealed that Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar, Aegon Targaryen. Also, Jon is his nephew since Rhaegar was Dany’s brother. Sounds weird, no?
The history of Trident does not end here for the original fire vs. ice conflict is yet to begin when King Torrhen Stark of the North stooped to Aegon, his sisters, and their dragons. So this could become of the major event in the final season.
The conflict between Ice and Fire is happening
Finally, the two forces of nature meet ice and fire are ready to collide. But who will play out who is yet to come in the picture? This will happen in the center of the map and this clash of battle literally seem to be the visual representation of the Night King and Daenerys’ war. In the teaser you might have come across the map marker that shows Daenerys’ Unsullied forces standing at the far end of the map which is at a rational distance from the Stark map marker like the Unsullied could be somewhere on the North’s east coast.
House of Targaryen’s Dragon Marker and Team Targaryen vs. Team Stark
Although it looks hard to tell exactly where the House of Targaryen Dragon Marker is but seems further south than the wolf. The situation in the down south seems to be calm but will not stay the same for long. There could be an alarming fire burning beyond the Dorne. The fire is shown to quickly spread, setting blazing at the Lannister map marker. So could I get the throne of Kings Landing?
Fire and ice race burning the paths looks like the Iron Islands in the central. We can assume it to be the clash of Team Targaryen vs. Team Stark although hopefully, it shouldn’t be the case.
Well, let’s see is it going to be like this or the complete picture will come up with a different twist. For killing your curiosity you will have to watch Game of Thrones Season 8 premiering on 14 April, HBO.
